The Spark Behind the Idea
Why?

The idea for Chhoti Sehat was born from a simple, yet frustrating, moment. my sister visited our village.

Her child needed a vaccine, but she had forgotten the paper vaccine card at home.

We didn’t know which ASHA worker to contact or where the vaccine would be given in the village.

That small moment made me think?

In a country like India, many families move from one place to another. And when they do, it becomes hard to manage their child’s health. They don’t know how the new health system works or where to go for help.

That’s how the idea of Chhoti Sehat started — an app to help parents carry their child’s health records and understand the local healthcare system when they relocate.

This is a common struggle for most parents.

How I Did the Research (Field Research)

I conducted face-to-face interviews with 20–30 Parents

  • 15 migrant parents who had recently moved to a new city or village

  • Local families living in the village

  • I also went door-to-door in rural areas to understand their problems personally

  • Spoke with 4–5 ASHA workers, who are directly involved in vaccination and child care services

Key Insights That Shaped the Solution

ASHA Connection is Broken

After relocating, parents don’t know the local ASHA didi — this delays vaccines and creates confusion.

Health Advice Trust Issue

Due to lack of awareness or trust, parents rely more on serials or relatives than official healthcare info.

Families Don’t Know Where to Go

Many parents are unaware of nearby hospitals.

Missed Government Support

Some families never receive info about camps or government benefits in their new location.

No Reminders or Records

Most parents don’t get any vaccine reminders — neither from ASHA nor digitally.

Mothers Feel Uncertain

Many aren’t aware of vaccine names or their importance — they depend on ASHA or hospital staff for everything.

Parents are Proactive but Need Help

Digitally-aware moms still need clear, structured vaccine schedules and nudges.

Missed or Delayed Vaccines

Due to lost cards or relocation, many parents forget what vaccines were given and what’s next.

"When parents don’t have the right info, it becomes hard to take care of their child’s health — but a little support can make a big difference."

Project Objective

The goal of this project was to design a digital solution that helps parents—especially those who relocate—easily manage their child’s vaccinations and health needs.

Easy way to Connect Health System

Helping families find trusted local health services (like ASHA workers, hospitals, and health camps and campaing)

Digital Vaccine Card

Keeping track of vaccination schedules, and missed doses — even when they move between cities or villages.

The Solution

Navigating Child Health Challenges in a New City, Made Easy.

A Health-First App for Relocating Families – Fast, Familiar, and Helpful

The Chhoti Sehat app makes it easy for parents to access nearby health services after moving to a new place. The experience is simple, trustworthy, and built for real-life use.

The home screen automatically detects the user’s location and helps them search for local ASHA workers, nearby hospitals, and ongoing health campaigns or camps—all in one place.

A flexible design system was also created to keep everything consistent across the mobile app, web version, and social media posts. This helped the brand look and feel the same everywhere — and made it easier to update things quickly during campaigns or health drives.

Designed to create a warm and user-friendly experience, the app uses soft pastel colors that feel calm and caring. Each screen is built with clarity and simplicity in mind, helping parents take quick action without any confusion or stress.

The Solution

Worry-Free Vaccinations: Always on Track, Powered by Official Data, Wherever Life Takes You.

A Smarter Way to Manage Vaccines — Timely, Clear, and Stress-Free

The Chhoti Sehat app makes it easy for parents to track their child’s vaccines, even after moving to a new place. The Vaccination Feature shows if the child is up to date or has any upcoming vaccines, along with the next due date.

No need to worry about lost cards — the app has a clear vaccine calendar and recent updates in one place. Whether you're a new or experienced parent, it gives simple and keeps everything organized.
